How To Bet On The 2024 French Open From Canada

The French Open is taking place in Paris over the next two weeks. This years tournament will run from May 26th to June 9th. Novak Djokovic is in the field as the defending champ. Djokovic is looking to turn his season around after he’s had a shaky start to 2024 by his standards. Carlos Alcaraz is a slight favourite over Djokovic to win the French Open, while Rafael Nadal, the 14-time French Open champion, is in the field after returning from injury this season. In the women’s tournament Iga Swiatek is a big favourite to win the title, while Aryna Sabalenka is the other top contenders.

As a Canadian tennis fan it should be an exciting tournament with Felix Auger-Aliassime, Denis Shapovalov, Leylah Annie Fernandez, and Bianca Andreescu all in the mix (although none have shorter than 100-1 odds to win the tournament).

On this page I will recommend my favourite sportsbook for Canadians looking to bet on the French Open, take a look at the odds for some of the favourites in both the Men’s and Women’s tournaments, and finish up by providing a simple 3 step guide to help you get your French Open bets placed online.

French Open Winner Odds

Let’s take a look at the odds for Men’s and Women’s singles.  The below screenshots were taken from Sports Interaction on May 24th.  The odds will change throughout the tournament.  To see the current odds head over to SportsInteraction.com, select ‘Tennis’ from the Top Sports menu, and navigate to the French Open betting markets.

Alcaraz, Djokovic, and Sinner are the three favourites leading into the tournament. Zverev is another contender, but he does meet Nadal in the first round, which should be an interesting match.

Felix Auger-Aliassime has odds of 125-1 and Denis Shapovalov has odds of 300-1 entering the tournament.

Neither Alcaraz or Djokovic are playing their best tennis leading into the tournament, while Sinner has not performed well at the French Open in past years. This event is much more wide open than a typical Men’s Grand Slam event.

Swiatek is a huge favourite, and rightfully so having won the tournament in both 2020, 2022, and 2023. That said, the best of three sets matches results in more variance in the women’s game. All it takes is a poor stretch of tennis against another elite athlete and an upset could occur. I think it would be smarter to look for longer odds rather than taking the favourite. I like Fernandez at long shot odds of 200-1.
