How To Bet On The 2021 French Open From Canada

The French Open takes place in Paris in the coming weeks. This years tournament returns to it’s normal spot as the second major of the tennis season taking place in early June after last years tournament was pushed back to September due to the covid-19 pandemic. Rafael Nadal is once again the favourite on the men’s side having won the last four editions of the tournament. In the women’s tournament it’s also the defending champion who is the favourite, with 20 year old Iga Swiatek looking to repeat as French Open champion.

As a Canadian tennis fan the tournament has been a bit of a let down with Milos Raonic and Dennis Shapovalov both withdrawing from the tournament due to injuries. Felix Auger Aliassime is in the tournament and he will look to break through at this major. On the women’s side Bianca Andreescu was defeated in the first round, so Canadian eyes will be on Leylah Annie Fernandez in the women’s draw.

On this page I will recommend my favourite sportsbook for Canadians looking to bet on the French Open, take a look at the odds for some of the favourites in both the Men’s and Women’s tournaments, and finish up by providing a simple 3 step guide to help you get your French Open bets placed online.

French Open Winner Odds

Let’s take a look at the odds for Men’s and Women’s singles.  The below screenshots were taken from Sports Interaction on May 31st.  The odds will change throughout the tournament.  To see the current odds head over to SportsInteraction.com, open the ‘Tennis’ drop down menu and click either ‘Mens French Open’ or ‘Womens French Open’.  You may have to scroll past the matches to find the futures odds.

Nadal is the favourite to win his 14th French Open title.  He’s won the event for the last four seasons and he looks to be playing at an elite level having won the Rome Masters earlier in the month, defeating Novak Djokovic in the finals of that tournament. Djokovic is also playing elite tennis having gone out and won a short tournament in Serbia last week after his loss to Nadal in the finals of the Rome Masters. He’s the best player in the world, but he’s the rightful third favourite considering Nadal’s success at this tournament. Tsitsipas is playing great tennis, but I’m surprised he has shorter odds than Djokovic heading into the tournament.

The women’s tournament is much more wide open. Iga Swiatek is the favourite at odds of 2.85 as the defending champion, but I still think this is anyone’s tournament to win. Serena at 19.74 really jumps out. She’s continued to put herself in great positions to win that elusive 24th Grand Slam, and with Naomi Osaka withdrawing from the tournament, this could be Serena’s opportunity.
