CFL Week 20 Spread Betting Picks 2018

After an awful week 18 where I went 0-4, I bounced right back this past week going a perfect 4-0 against the spread in week 19.  The Redblacks won outright, the Lions got the job done at home against the Eskies, the Alouettes narrowly beat the spread in Toronto and the Roughriders won outright in Calgary as 9 point underdogs.  I’m now 34-25 against the spread for the CFL season and will look to add more profit in these final two weeks of the season.

I will be using the odds from SportsInteraction.com for my CFL picks throughout the season.  They are our top rated sportsbook for Canadians.  Check out our full SIA review here.

Calgary Stampeders @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers

  • Calgary +3.5
  • Winnipeg -3.5

Calgary has not been good of late, but I expect them to get it together as we head into the playoffs.  Calgary has lost two games in a row at home, and going on the road against a solid Winnipeg team might be what the doctor ordered to get this team out of their slump.  These final two games of the season are also suddenly important for the Stampeders who are only 1 win ahead of the Roughriders for top spot in the West after basically having the top spot locked up all year.

Winnipeg is coming off a bye and this is a big game for them because a loss could bring up a must-win game in week 21 against the Eskimos, in Edmonton.  The Bombers have been playing great of late, winning 4 straight games heading into last weeks bye.

The Bombers seem like the smart play here based on both teams momentums, but I can’t pass up a +3.5 spread on the Stampeders.  I’m not sure if I’ve seen them as underdogs in any game this season.  I’ll take the points.

Play: Stampeders +3.5

Ottawa Redblacks @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats

  • Ottawa +3.5
  • Hamilton -3.5

Ottawa squeezed out a nice come from behind win at home against the Ti-Cats last week, but I’m not expecting them to be able to pull off the upset two weeks in a row.  The Ti-Cats are still playing some great football and I expect them to rebound in front of their home fans and get the win in this game.

The spread is fairly spot on in my opinion, but I’ll lay the points and hope that the Ti-Cats run away with this one a little bit.

Play: Tiger-Cats -3.5

BC Lions @ Saskatchewan Roughriders

  • BC +4
  • Saskatchewan -4

This could be a let down spot for the Roughriders, but I think the fact they have a bye week in the final week of the season, should enable them to focus this week to close out the season strong.  A win here coupled with a Stampeders loss would really put the pressure on Calgary to keep the top spot and secure the bye in week 1 of the playoffs.  The Roughriders are still a strange team in terms of inconsistency, but when they play their best they are an elite team in this league.

The Lions secured a huge home win over the Eskies last week, but now they are back on the road where they have struggled this season (2-6-0).

This is a tough game to bet, with so many variables to consider, but I’m going to take the home Roughriders to get a win and head into the playoffs on a high note.

Play: Roughriders -4

Toronto Argonauts @ Montreal Alouettes

  • Toronto +1
  • Montreal -1

The two last placed teams in the league battled it out in an entertaining and tight game last week, and I expect more of the same this week.  The difference being that I think Montreal will get the win this time.

I’m not going to spend too much time on this game, other than to say I expect Montreal to get the win at home.  The Argos gave a decent effort at home this past week, but the team has looked checked out in road games of late (0-7) on the season and I think they may just go through the motions in Montreal.

Play: Alouettes -1
