CFL Week 19 Spread Betting Picks

Last week was my worst CFL picks week of the season.  I went 0-4 for the first time this year and those losses really put a dent in my profits for this season.  My spread betting picks record for the CFL now sits at 30-25 and after a great start to the season I’ve been giving some profits back over the last few weeks.

I will be using the odds from SportsInteraction.com for my CFL picks throughout the season.  They are our top rated sportsbook for Canadians.  Check out our full SIA review here.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Ottawa Redblacks

  • Hamilton +1
  • Ottawa -1

This is a massive game for first spot in the East Division with both Ottawa and Hamilton currently sitting on 8-7 records.  Hamilton looked very solid in their win over Toronto this past week, doing exactly what they should and dominating the game against the Argos.  Ottawa was unable to keep pace, losing their game in Edmonton.

These are two very even teams and I think this game could go either way.  That said, I’m going to side with the Redblacks at home.  I might regret this pick, considering how strong Hamilton looked last week, but I believe in this Redblacks team and think they will bounce back in this big game.

Play: Redblacks -1

Edmonton Eskimos @ BC Lions

  • Edmonton +1.5
  • BC -1.5

This is another massive game with Edmonton and BC battling it out for the final playoff spot in the West.  BC is 8-7, while Edmonton is 8-8.  Each team won their games this past week, but it was BC that really stepped up, beating the powerhouse Stampeders in Calgary.

This game is just as huge for the Lions and I expect them to keep the momentum and beat this Eskimos team that I’ve said was overrated all year long.  BC is 6-1 at home this year, while Edmonton is just 2-6 on the road.  Look for the Lions to get this win and put some distance between themselves and Edmonton.

Play: Lions -1.5

Montreal Alouettes @ Toronto Argonauts

  • Montreal +5
  • Toronto -5

This battle between the two last placed teams in the league should be interesting.  I feel like the Argos have thrown in the towel.  It seemed like they lacked effort at points in their game with Hamilton last week and I think the players are just going through the motions.  I don’t really see that with Montreal, who I think are still battling for respect.

Montreal only lost 12-6 to the Stampeders two weeks ago, and coming out of their bye week I’m expecting some more quality defensive effort.  I also expect the offense to get moving against the weak Argos defense and for Manziel to make some big plays.

I actually think Montreal will win this game, so I’m happy to take the 5 points.

Play: Alouettes +5

Saskatchewan Roughriders @ Calgary Stampeders

  • Saskatchewan +9
  • Calgary -9

Calgary has simply looked off of late.  They lost at home to BC last week and only managed 12 points in a tight win the bottom feeding Alouettes two weeks ago.  Saskatchewan has played Calgary tough all year, but they will also need a bounce back performance after failing to put up a point in a 31-0 loss in Winnipeg.

The way Calgary is playing right now I just can’t justify taking them as 9 point favourites.  I will expect the Roughriders to bounce back and once again be up for a big game against the Stampeders.  This should be a close one, so I’ll take the points here as well.

Play: Roughriders +9
