Toronto Blue Jays Prop Bets Down the Stretch

David Price Blue JaysThe Toronto Blue Jays have had absolutely everything go their way since acquiring Troy Tulowitzki and David Price at the trade deadline this year.  David Price especially filled a big hole in the Blue Jays rotation, while Tulowitzki was a big upgrade at shortstop for the Jays.  It seems as though the other players on the team have also stepped up though now, armed with the belief that this team has a legitimate chance to do some damage in the post-season.

The Blue Jays are in their best position at this time of the year in the AL East since 1993 when the Jays won their second of two straight World Series titles.  Phrases such as “the best team in baseball” have been thrown around of late, and online sportsbook SportsInteraction.com (one of our recommended Canadian betting sites) has taken notice.  Not only are the Blue Jays currently the favourites to win the World Series at Sports Interaction with odds of 4.75, but they have also added some very interesting and unique Jays prop bets to the site that Canadian baseball fans will love.

Sports Betting Canadian PictureI’ll be honest.  I’m not generally a big MLB fan, and although I do like to see the Blue Jays win I don’t normally get into the hype train that surrounds them each season.  But this year seems different and I’ve found myself watching and following the Jays more than I ever have in the past.  Here’s hoping they keep it up.

AL East Outright Winner

  • Blue Jays 1.66
  • Yankees 2.10
  • Orioles 19.00
  • Rays 41.00
  • Red Sox 451.00

SportsInteraction.com has the Jays passing the Yankees down the stretch and claiming the AL East Title.  I think they will do it.

Will The Jays Make The Playoffs?

  • Yes 1.10
  • No 7.00

The Jays are currently sitting pretty in the top Wild Card slot in the AL East, 2 games ahead of the Baltimore Orioles, so if the season ended today they would be in the playoffs.  They’re also only 0.5 games back of the Yankees for tops in the AL East and they’re riding a 9 game winning streak that doesn’t look like it will end any time soon.  MLB.com has the odds of the Blue Jays making the playoffs calculated at 90.3%.  At these odds the 1.10 line that SportsInteraction.com is giving, looks to be a +ROI play.

How Long Will The Jays Winning Streak Last?

  • 9 games 2.80
  • 10 games 1.45
  • 11 games 3.00
  • 12 games 7.50
  • 13 games 21.00
  • 14 games 34.00
  • 15 games 41.00
  • 16 games 67.00
  • 17 games 101.00
  • 18 games or more 81.00

The Jays have Dickey on the mound tonight against Aaron Brooks of the Oakland A’s.  They are big favourites to win tonight against the inexperienced A’s pitcher, but on Thursday things get a little bit harder with Mark Buehrle on the mound against Sonny Gray.  This is the reason why the odds dip so much at 10 games for the streak.  I personally would steer clear of betting on the 10 games prediction because that involves Dickey winning tonight and then the Jays hitters not getting the best of Gray tomorrow, which is entirely possible.  At odds of just 1.45 it just doesn’t make sense.  I’m leaning more towards something like 13 games.  The Jays just seem unstoppable right now.

**I should note that the odds for each of these Blue Jays props (and the World Series odds) are adjusted by Sports Interaction every day, so make sure you check SportsInteraction.com for up to date odds.

I love these type of prop bets because they are great for fans.  To see more information on Sports Interaction you can read our full review here.
