I’m now 2-1 in Raptors picks as Washington (+2.5) were crushed by Toronto 103-84 last Friday. Tonight the Raptors play at home versus the Orlando Magic.

Overview:

The Orlando Magic had their brief 2 game winning streak snapped on Sunday as they lost at Brooklyn 104-96. Center Nikola Vucevic had a double-double with 27 points and 12 rebounds. He was 13 of 19 from the field in 32 minutes. Shooting guard Evan Fournier netted 19 points on 6 of 9 shooting in 33 minutes. Power forward Channing Frye scored 13 points on 5 of 8 shooting in 33 minutes. He also had 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Small forward Tobias Harris chipped in with 11 points on 4 of 13 shooting. The team shot 52% from the field, 53.3% from the 3 point line (8-15), and 62.5% from the free throw line (10-16). The Magic were up 2 at halftime but were outscored by 10 points in the 2nd half. Orlando is  1-3 on the road this season.Tonight is the first of a back to back on the road.

The Toronto Raptors currently have the best record in the Eastern Conference at 6-1. On Sunday they won their 4th straight with a 120-88 home victory versus the 76ers. Shooting guard DeMar DeRozan led the team with 24 points. He also pulled down 6 rebounds. He shot 8 of 12 from the field and 8 of 8 from the free throw line. Small forward Terrence Ross netted 17 points on 6 of 11 shooting in 29 minutes. Backup shooting guard Louis Williams chipped in 16 points on 5 of 9 shooting in 18 minutes of reserve action. The team shot 56.6% from the field, 41.2% from the 3 point line (7-17), and 90% from the free throw line (27-30). They out-rebounded the Sixers 39-31. The Raptors scored 60 points in each half.  Toronto is 4-0 at home this season. Tonight is the 3rd game of their 7 game home stand.

Toronto was victorious 108-95 in the first of 4 meetings with Orlando this season.

Prediction:

The Raptors look like the real deal through their first 7 games of the season and they shouldn’t have much of tough time with this young Magic squad. Take the Raptors -11 (1.90) (Bet365)
