There are plenty of games to choose from on this large Tuesday slate in the NHL and I believe I’ve found two very strong plays for tonight.

LA Kings @ Buffalo Sabres

I watched the Kings vs Senators game this past Saturday and even though the Kings came out with a win they did not have a good game with the Sens dominating for large portions of the game.  The Kings are a very streaky team and they had lost their previous two games before beating the Sens as well, and then came out with a sub par performance even in their win.  I don’t think the Kings are at the top of their game right now and when you add in the fact they have struggle on the road this season with a record of 4-7-1 and I simply don’t think they should be a favourite in this spot.

The Sabres are coming off a loss, but it was to a Capitals team that has really figured it out of late.  I think the Sabres are actually playing fairly solid hockey of late.  They should be the favourite in this game.

Play: Sabres 2.10 @ SportsInteraction.com

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Edmonton Oilers

The Jackets are showing absolutely no signs of slowing down.  They’ve now won 6 straight games and you could make a realistic argument that they are the best team in the league over the past twenty games.  Not only are the Blue Jackets winning games, but they are blowing teams out.  Columbus has a +31 goal differential, which is second in the league next to the Rangers.

I also see the Oilers regressing back to a very average team this season.  They’ve only won 3 of their past 10 games and the win over the Jets on Sunday was largely due to the own goal game winner by Patrick Laine.  Before that win the Oilers had lost 4 straight and I see them having a lot of difficulty keeping the puck out of the net tonight against this Blue Jackets offense that is firing on all cylinders and from a variety of lines.

Play: Blue Jackets 1.91 @ SportsInteraction.com
