NFL Week 6 Spread Betting Picks 2018

The Falcons were absolutely destroyed last week in Pittsburgh, but luckily the Chargers came through and covered their 5.5 point spread at home to Oakland.  That 1-1 week brings my season record to 4-8 for my NFL picks through week 5.  It’s not the start to the season I wanted, but I still expect to turn this season and around and come out with a profit by the end of the year.

I will be using SportsInteraction.com for all of the spreads and picks below.  You can see our full SIA review here.  I have 2 picks this week.

Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants

  • Philadelphia -3
  • New York +3

I’m kicking things off with the Thursday night game this week.  The Eagles have lost two in a row and now sit with a record of 2-3, but I still think they are one of the best teams in this league.  The Eagles lost close games to the Titans and Vikings, while also losing Jay Ajayi to injury for the season.  That said, I have to think that Carson Wentz and company will be able to put up points in New York.  Smallwood is a capable running back and with Ertz, Jeffery and Agholor all part of the passing game, I think the Eagles should be able to move the ball through the air.

The Giants lost a heartbreaker last week in Carolina, but they will need to forget about that game quickly if they hope to compete in this one.  The Eagles have been great against the run this season, so they should be able to contain the Giants biggest threat in Barkley.  Also, even though the Eagles secondary hasn’t been great this year, I think the pass rush should be able to get to Eli Manning and cause some turnovers or bad throws.

Look for the Eagles to have a big game in prime time and prove that they are still a threat this season.

Play: Eagles -3

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals

  • Pittsburgh +2.5
  • Cincinnati -2.5

The Steelers had a huge game at home against the Falcons last week, but now they head to Cincinnati to face one of the top teams in the league.  I don’t expect Conner to have two big games in a row and Big Ben has often struggled on the road in his career.

On the flip side, I expect Dalton and company to be able to put up points against this Steelers secondary.  Look for a big game from A.J. Green and a healthy Joe Mixon helps this Bengals offense in a big way.

I like the Bengals to show that they are truly the top team in the AFC North, at least at this point in the season.

Play: Bengals -2.5

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Atlanta Falcons

  • Tampa Bay +3
  • Atlanta -3

I’m going right back to the Falcons this week.  They are at home against the Bucs in a much better matchup and the one-sided loss to the Steelers is still fresh on everyone’s minds.  I’m expecting a big bounce back game from the Falcons in this one.  At just 1-4 the Falcons are nearing must-win time if they hope to make the playoffs this season.

Matt Ryan should have a field day throwing to Julio and Ridley in this spot.  I’m also expecting a big game from the Freeman and Coleman duo like we saw so many times last year.  The Bucs needed a ton of magic from Fitzpatrick early in the season to get their wins.  Winston is the better QB, but he plays fairly conservatively and I don’t think he will be able to keep up with the Falcons offense in this game.

Let’s not forget that the Bucs were projected as the worst team in the league to start the season.  Yes, they came out of the game with a couple big wins, but they may be fading back to reality.

Play: Falcons -3
