NFL Week 16 Spread Betting Picks 2019

Last week was the opposite of week 14 for my picks. I lost the Bengals +9.5 pick clearly with the Pats able to run up the score against Cincinnati. And my Seahawks -6 pick was a push with Seattle winning 30-24.

I’m now 15-11-2 with my spread betting picks this NFL season. I will be using SportsInteraction.com for all of the spreads and picks below.  You can see our full SIA review here.  I’m going with just 2 picks again in week 15.

Houston Texans @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

  • Houston -3
  • Tampa Bay +3

The Texans can clinch the AFC South with a win Tampa Bay this Saturday. I fully expect Deshaun Watson and company to take advantage of this weak Bucs defense and run up the score to win this game, clinch the division, and cover the spread in the process.

Chris Godwin is unlikely to play, so this Bucs offense will have to keep pace without their two wide receiver stars (Mike Evans is on the IR). I’m not convinced Breshad Perriman, O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate can pick up the slack in the Bucs passing game, and I could see Winston throwing a few picks as he is forced to look for other targets this week.

Play: Texans -3

Pittsburgh Steelers @ New York Jets

  • Pittsburgh -3
  • New York +3

The Steelers are in a must-win situation as they travel to New Jersey to take on the 5-9 Jets. Pittsburgh lost to the Bills last week which has put their backs against the wall.

I do like the Steelers to come through with a win this week. The Pittsburgh defense is one of the best in the league and the Jets have not been good against top D’s this year. I think Pittsburgh should be able to hold the Jets to under 20 points and then rely on their offense to put up some points to get this win.

James Conner returned last week and looked solid against a tough Bills run defense going for 42 yards on 8 attempts and catching 4 of 5 targets for 9 yards and a touchdown. Adding Conner out of the backfield gives this offense a big boost because he is a big upgrade over Snell and Samuels.

Devlin Hodges had a rough game last week, but this Jets defense is much more beatable than the Bills. Add in Conner and potentially JuJu Smith-Schuster who is currently listed as questionable and this offense may have enough in the tank to put up 25+ against a Jets D that was absolutely thrashed by Lamar Jackson and the Ravens last week.

Play: Steelers -3
