NFL Week 13 Spread Betting Picks 2018

It was another rough week for my NFL picks in week 12.  I went 0-2 after the Bengals got absolutely destroyed by the Browns, and the Packers came up a touchdown short against the Vikings.  That 0-2 week brings my NFL picks record to a paltry 10-17-2 against the spread.  Feel free to fade my plays if you prefer.

I will be using SportsInteraction.com for all of the spreads and odds this NFL season.  You can see our full SIA review here.  I’m sticking with just two picks again this week.

Cleveland Browns @ Houston Texans

  • Cleveland +6
  • Houston -6

The Browns have looked much better since they overhauled their coaching staff, but this is a very tough spot for them against a Texans team that is rolling right now.  I don’t think the Browns offense will be able to put up many points on this Texans defense that has simply been great over the Texans 8 game winning streak.

On the other side of the ball, the Texans offense is starting to get rolling with Demaryius Thomas showing he’s another great red zone threat and the perfect guy to slot in as WR2 behind DeAndre Hopkins.  This team has two big play wide receivers who can get open and pull in catches for Watson.  Lamar Miller is starting to get going as well and the offense is just clicking in all areas to complement the strength of the defense.

The Texans are on a short week, but I still expect them to get the better of the Browns this week and to extend that winning streak to 9.

Play: Texans -6

LA Chargers @ Pittsburgh Steelers

  • Los Angeles +3.5
  • Pittsburgh -3.5

The Chargers are quietly having a terrific season with a record of 8-3.  That said, they’ve also had the benefit of a very weak schedule.  They beat up on the Cardinals in LA last week and have taken advantage of being in the weakest division in the NFL, going 4-0 against NFC West opponents.  When you take out their divisional opponents the Chargers are only 4-3 on the season, and two of those games were against the Oakland Raiders, who many consider the worst team in the league.  The Chargers even lost to the Broncos at home just two weeks ago.  The Chargers are a solid team, but we really don’t know just how good they are yet because their schedule gave them every opportunity to go 8-3 to this point in the season.

The Steelers are coming off a tough loss of their own to the Broncos, but their game was played in Denver.  Overall though, the Steelers have been very solid this season pulling out some big wins against solid teams.  They were on a 6 game winning streak before last weeks loss in Denver and I’m expecting them to bounce back at home this week.

I’m expecting for the Steelers to expose the Chargers as an average team that has simply taken advantage of weak opponents.

Play: Steelers -3.5
