Jake Paul will continue his boxing career with a fight vs UFC legend, Anderson Silva, this Saturday, October 29th in Glendale, Arizona. The eight round fight will be contested at 187 pounds and be broadcast on Showtime PPV.
Jake Paul is currently 5-0 in his boxing career after defeating AnesonGib, Nate Robinson, Ben Askren, and Tyron Woodley twice. Paul was expected to face up-and-coming pro boxing Tommy Fury in August, but Fury pulled out of the fight stating issues traveling to the USA. Paul was then expected to face replacement Hasim Rahman Jr. a 12-1 heavyweight who is the son of a former heavyweight champ, but Rahman Jr. pulled out of the fight a week in advance with weight cutting issues, resulting in the August event being cancelled.
Paul’s critics point to the fact that he’s once again an older MMA fighter rather than a young pro boxer. That said, Anderson Silva has two boxing victories last year, including a win over former champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., which is a far better win than either Tommy Fury or Hasim Rahman Jr. have on their resumes.
