Free NHL Picks March 1st

Sport Betting Canadian Hockey MascotIt’s another huge Tuesday in the NHL tonight, with 9 games in action.  The excitement of the trade deadline is behind us and now teams are set heading into the final stretch before the playoffs.  It’s an exciting time of year to be an NHL fan.

I have 3 plays for you guys tonight.  To learn more about NHL betting click here.

Calgary Flames @ Boston Bruins

Boston Bruins LogoThe Flames have been giving up a ton of goals since Kari Ramo went down with injury and with this being their second game in two nights, I don’t expect them to suddenly find a way to keep the puck out of their net.  The Flames have now lost 5 straight games and have given up 11 goals over the last two.  Losing Kris Russell at the trade deadline will not help their defense and I expect teams to feast on the Flames for the rest of the season.

The Bruins are big favourites and rightfully so.  I don’t see them losing this game.

Play: Bruins 1.47

Colorado Avalanche @ Minnesota Wild

Colorado Av LogoThis is a very important game between two teams that are battling for the final wild card spot in the Western Conference.  The Avalanche made it known they are going to look to make the playoffs when they added Boedker yesterday and I think the boost he brings could pay dividends right away.

The Avalanche are 18-14 on the road this season, which is better than their home record and it shows that this young team is not affected by where the game takes place.  I see this game really going either way, which is why I like the Avalanche at very favourable odds in this one.

Play: Avalanche 2.40

Pittsburgh Penguins @ Washington Capitals

Washington Capitals LogoThe Penguins are coming off a huge 6-0 win over the Coyotes last night at home.  Although they got the win, the Penguins did not dominate the depleted Coyotes by any means and I still see a lot of holes in these Penguins as we move towards the playoffs.  The Capitals and Penguins have built a rivalry over the past several years with each teams captain in the conversation for best player in the world.  It’s hard to argue with what Ovechkin has done this year both individually and by helping his Capitals to the top record in the NHL.  I’m expecting the Caps to bring their A-game tonight and to light up a Penguins team that is playing their second of back to back games and has shown that they are susceptible to potent offenses throughout the year.

Play: Capitals 1.645
