I hit both my free NHL picks last night. They were a couple slight favourites, but that still pays the bills. I’m going to stretch it a bit more tonight because I see a bit of value in some more difficult to hit plays, but if they do hit we’re laughing.

Vancouver Canucks @ New York Rangers
The Canucks are headed to MSG against a Rangers team that has won 4 straight, but without Lundqvist they are still giving up quite a few goals. That said when you’ve scored 22 goals in the past 4 games you’re going to get wins. That was all on a road trip though and now that they’re back home sometimes there is a bit of a lull and I think the Canucks can take advantage of this. I’m going with a strange play and taking the Canucks to win by 2 or more in this one.

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Pittsburgh Penguins
The Pens can go off for huge amounts of goals in a moments notice. They’ve not scored as much of late, but I think they could go off tonight against a Bobrovsky-less Blue Jackets team. I’m looking for Crosby and Malkin to get a few points each tonight and for the Pens to get the big win.
