I took last night off after a sub par Saturday night that saw me go 2-4. The Predators overtime loss in Chicago was the toughest to swallow because a win there would have put me into the black for the night and the Preds were on a big powerplay in overtime before Jonathan Toews scored his overtime shorty. My wins came from the Bruins and Lightning, so overall it wasn’t a horrible night, but I am looking to bounce back with my single play this evening.

Tampa Bay Lightning @ Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers do have Nugent-Hopkins back in the lineup, so their top offensive threats of Hall, Eberle and the Nuge are all playing, but that hasn’t been enough for the Oilers yet this season as they sit with a horrible 0-4-1 record, while being outscored 25-11 in these games. It looks like it’s going to be another long season in Edmonton. This team just doesn’t have the depth to compete in this league. Their defense is suspect from top to bottom and their young stars are still not strong enough to carry this team like some expect them to.
The Lightning on the other hand are one of the top teams in the league this year if early indications showcase anything. They’ve outscored opponents 17-10 through 5 games and they’re coming off a big win over the Canucks on Saturday night. The Oilers shouldn’t be any trouble for the Lightning tonight. I’m so confident in the Lightning’s offense, combined with the poor Oilers D that I’m even going to take the puckline in this one.
