FIFA World Cup Betting Picks for June 21st

I’m adding these picks after the Portugal win over Morocco, but before the other two matches.  My record for the tournament now sits at 6-8 for +1.56 units.  Morocco was all over Portugal for a good chunk of the match today, but failed to find the back of the net.  It would have been very nice to start today with a cash on the draw bet for that match.  I will need to hit some winners soon to stay in the profit.

I will be using the best odds available from any of our top rated betting sites for Canadians.  The odds often change leading up to matches so be sure to compare odds when making your wagers to make sure you’re getting the best value.

Denmark vs Australia

  • Denmark 1.95
  • Draw 3.40
  • Australia 4.50

Australia was able to play well against France in their opening match, keeping the game tied until a Pogba shot that just crossed the line put France ahead for good.  That said, I still don’t think this Australia team really poses much danger to the top teams in the tournament.

Denmark, on the other hand, were able to pull out a win over Peru in a match that a lot would argue they did not deserve to win.  That said, Denmark is a quality side and they will be looking to get a win in this match to book their spot in their round of 16.  I think Denmark will be able to find the back of the net once or twice in this match and that should be enough to get the win.

Play: Denmark 1.95

France vs Peru

  • France 1.61
  • Draw 4.30
  • Peru 6.50

After a heartbreaking loss to Denmark in their opener, Peru needs to earn at least a point in this match with powerhouse France to keep their World Cup dreams alive.  Peru showed a lot of quality in that match with Denmark, but they just weren’t able to find the back of the net.

I do not expect them to be outclassed at all in this match and I think they have a great chance to at least earn a draw and keep their chances of advancing alive.  I don’t mind betting on Peru to win this game outright, but I think the sharp money would be on a draw, even though that may not be enough for Peru to advance.

Argentina vs Croatia

  • Argentina 2.05
  • Draw 3.61
  • Croatia 4.10

I expect Argentina to bounce back from their tie with Iceland and find the back of the net a couple times in this match with Croatia.  Messi had a sub par game against Iceland, but I don’t think he will be missing any future penalties and I think he could blow up with a big game in this one against Croatia.

Argentina will have trouble against the elite teams in this tournament, but I don’t think Croatia falls into that category.  This should be a close match, but I think Messi will find a way to get Argentina the 3 points and take a bit of pressure off heading into the final group matches.

Play: Argentina 2.05

Again, these odds can change leading up to the matches, so be sure to check and compare the odds for each match yourself before placing your bets.
