Group C Winner Odds
- France 1.31
- Denmark 5.50
- Peru 11.00

Let me start by saying that I do think France will win this group. They are by far the most talented team in Group C and I actually think they have a great chance to win the entire World Cup. I think the 1.31 betting line is pretty accurate as well. That said, I don’t like betting on that big of favourites to win a group when all it takes is one mistake to cost a team the top spot. This is one of the weaker groups after France, but that’s not to say they don’t have the ability to get results.
Instead of France, I’m looking at Peru as a potential value play to win this group. Peru was able to qualify for the World Cup out of South America, which automatically makes them a contender in my eyes. Peru hasn’t been at the World Cup since 1982, but this group beat out some top countries such as Chile and Ecuador to earn their spot. This was no fluke either as this group has performed well internationally for some time now, finishing 3rd at the 2015 Copa America tournament and winning their group that included Ecuador and Brazil at the Copa America Centenario tournament in 2016, before losing to Colombia on penalties in the knockout round. Peru beat Brazil 1-0 in a must win game to knock out the Brazilians from that tournament in 2016. If Peru can beat Brazil to finish atop a group at a big International tournament, there’s no reason they can’t do the same to France.

Other Group C Bets
Continuing with the Peru love, I also like the odds of 3.00 at SportsInteraction.com for Peru to advance to the knockout round. I’m not a big believer in the Denmark team and I like Peru’s chances in that match. I think the oddsmakers are sleeping on Peru because they aren’t a team that people are used to seeing at the World Cup, but the fact is they advanced out of one of the two elite confederations and they have the talent to succeed at this level.
