CFL Week 3 Betting Picks 2018

I’ve missed out on getting my CFL picks up for the first two weeks of the 2018 season because I’ve been preoccupied with the World Cup.  That said, I will be getting picks up for every game in this CFL season from this point forward.  Last year I finished with exactly a .500 record for my regular season plays after a rough finish to the season.  I will be looking to stay in the profit throughout this 2018 season.

I will be using the odds from SportsInteraction.com for my CFL picks throughout the season.  They are our top rated sportsbook for Canadians.  Check out our full SIA review here.

Ottawa Redblacks vs Calgary Stampeders

  • Ottawa +8 (1.87)
  • Calgary -8 (1.95)

The Stamps have stormed out of the gate looking like they will once again be the team to beat in the CFL this season.  They absolutely destroyed the Argos 41-7 last week in Toronto, but that won’t do much to fix last seasons fourth quarter collapse against those same Argos in the Grey Cup.

Calgary is back home this week and I expect them to continue rolling against the Redblacks.  Ottawa looked good at home against the Roughriders last week, but on the road against the best team in the league is an entirely different challenge.  The Stamps will become 10 point favourites in virtually every home game later in this season, so take advantage of this 7.5 point line.

Play: Stampeders -8

Winnipeg Blue Bombers vs Hamilton Tiger-Cats

  • Winnipeg +4
  • Hamilton -4

The Bombers absolutely destroyed the Alouettes in Montreal last weekend, but now they are heading into Hamilton to face a much more complete team in the Ti-Cats.  Hamilton is expected to win the East this year, but they will need to win games like this at home if they want to live up to those expectations.

I think Hamilton does enough to get the win in this one.  The line is pretty accurate, but I’m ok with taking the Ti-Cats to cover.

Play: Ti-Cats -4

BC Lions vs Edmonton Eskimos

  • BC +6.5 (1.87)
  • Edmonton -6.5 (1.95)

Last season, the Eskimos were as streaky as they come and they won a lot of tight games.  I don’t think they were as good as their 12-6 record indicated last season and I see them as a prime team to fade early in the season.  Even if they do squeak this one out that 6.5 point spread is definitely too large of a spread against this Lions team that is coming off a bye week.

BC beat Montreal at home in week 1 and then had week 2 off, so we really don’t know much about this team yet.  The Eskies are a step up in competition from Montreal, but I think BC will be able to hold their own and possibly even pull out a close win here.

Play: Lions +6.5

Montreal Alouettes vs Saskatchewan Roughriders

  • Montreal +11 (1.95)
  • Saskatchewan -11 (1.87)

The Alouettes are bad this year.  They will be hard pressed to get more wins than the 3 they managed last season.  Unlike the Eskimos, the Roughriders are a team that I believe is better than they are given credit for.  After being blown out in Ottawa last week, I’m expecting a bounce back from the Roughriders and for them to give their home fans something to cheer about as they run the score up against this weak Montreal defense.

Play: Roughriders -11
