CFL Week 19 Betting Predictions

Sports Betting Canadian Mascot FootballI’m continuing to turn a profit betting on the CFL late in the season.  Last week I once again went 3-1 against the spread, with my only loss coming due to the Lions covering the spread at home against the Eskies.  That winning week now brings my season record to a respectable 36-30-1 against the spread.  With only two weeks left in the CFL season, I’m looking to finish strong.

I’ll be using SportsInteraction.com for my CFL picks all season long.  They’re our top rated sportsbook and you can check out our full SIA review here.

Edmonton Eskimos @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats

  • Edmonton +1.5
  • Hamilton -1.5

Edmonton EskimosThe Eskies lost by a touchdown in BC last week and now sit with an 8-8 record, which is good enough for a crossover spot in the East Division playoffs.  If the standings stay as they are the Eskimos will be playing Hamilton in the first round of the playoffs.  I have the Eskimos as by far the superior team in this game and I expect them to bring the game to Hamilton in order to leave an impressive for a potential first round playoff battle.

I also, just don’t think the East teams are really able to compete against the West.  Hamilton is just 2-7 against Western teams this season.

Play: Eskimos +1.5

Ottawa Redblacks @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers

  • Winnipeg Blue BombersOttawa +5.5
  • Winnipeg -5.5

Once again, I have to side with the Western Division team.  The Redblacks have had trouble closing out games of late and now they have to face a Blue Bombers team that is 5-1 against the East this season.  The Bombers are also coming off a bye week, so they should be raring to go and exceptionally well prepared for this game against Ottawa.  Winnipeg will want to keep home field advantage in the first round where they will likely be facing BC, so this is an important game, where I expect them to play well at home.

Play: Blue Bombers -5.5

BC Lions @ Saskatchewan Roughriders

  • BC LionsBC -2.5
  • Saskatchwan +2.5

The Riders came back down to earth last week with a loss at home to the Alouettes.  That loss put an end to a surprising 4 game winning streak for the Riders.  That said, 3 of those wins came against East Division teams, so coming back to playing the West will likely result in a return to the loss column for the Roughriders.

Just like I said above, the Lions are in a playoff positioning battle with the Bombers, so they will want to get this win and keep the opportunity for home field advantage in the playoffs alive.

Play: Lions -2.5

Calgary Stampeders @ Montreal Alouettes

  • Calgary StampedersCalgary -9
  • Montreal +9

The Stamps covered a 17 point spread last week against the Argos and I don’t expect them to have any trouble cover a 9 point spread on the road in Montreal.  Calgary is on the verge of one of the best seasons in CFL history and I expect them to come out and play a very solid game, which will be enough to cover the spread against one of the worst teams in the league without any trouble.  After finishing 16-1-1 it will be up to the Stamps to win a couple more games in the playoffs to cement their place in history.

Play: Stampeders -9
