CFL Week 18 Betting Picks

I had a good start to my picks last week with the Ti-Cats easily covering the spread vs the Eskimos, but it was all down hill from there and I finished the week 1-3 for one of my few losing weeks of this CFL season.

I’m now 25-21-2 with my CFL plays this season. I will be using the odds from SportsInteraction.com for my pick again this week. They are our top rated betting site for Canadians and they are actually partnered with several CFL teams this season. Check out our full SIA review here.

Ottawa Redblacks @ Toronto Argonauts

  • Ottawa +2.5
  • Toronto -2.5

Toronto just got trounced by BC last week, but I still have to side with them at home vs the Redblacks this week. Ottawa has been awful in the second half of the season and are currently riding a 7 game losing streak. I don’t think last weeks bye will result in them suddenly finding some offense in Toronto.

The Redblacks have averaged under 12 points in their last 7 games, which is absolutely ridiculous in the CFL. Give me the Argos who have had some decent games more recently than Ottawa has.

Play: Argonauts -2.5

Saskatchewan Roughriders @ Calgary Stampeders

  • Saskatchewan +2.5
  • Calgary -2.5

Calgary let me down last week in Montreal, but I’m sticking with the Stampeders this week. They are 5-2 at home on the season, and I expect them to get this win over the Riders in the battle for home field advantage in the West and a first round bye.

The Stampeders are a championship team and this is a massive game, so I expect them to show up with their A-game and defend their home field against another stud team in the Riders.

Play: Stampeders -2.5

Montreal Alouettes @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers

  • Montreal +3.5
  • Winnipeg -3.5

The Bombers have struggled of late, including losing to the Roughriders last week, and dropping their first home game of the season the week prior vs the Ti-Cats. Winnipeg has now lost three straight coming out of their week 14 bye. That said, I still think this team is solid and should be able to turn things around this week at home vs the Alouettes.

Play: Blue Bombers -3.5

BC Lions @ Edmonton Eskimos

  • BC -2
  • Edmonton +2

This is a huge game for Edmonton. With a win they will clinch the final spot in this years CFL playoffs. BC has done well to win their last four games to make things interesting, but let’s not forget that those wins were over Ottawa x2, Montreal at home, and Toronto. I’m not ready to start believing that BC is a good team. Especially when they are 0-7 vs West Division opponents this season.

Edmonton is a below average team in the CFL, but I still think they have what it takes to perform in front of their home fans this week against the lowly Lions to secure the coveted crossover playoff spot.

Play: Eskimos +2
