CFL Week 16 Betting Picks

I added another unit of profit after going 2-1 with my picks against the spread in the CFL this past week. The Stampeders and Lions came through for me, covering their spreads against Toronto and Ottawa, but the Alouettes comeback victory prevented the perfect week.

I’m now 23-17-1 with my CFL picks this season. I will be using the odds from SportsInteraction.com for my pick again this week. They are our top rated betting site for Canadians and they are actually partnered with several CFL teams this season. Check out our full SIA review here.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers

  • Hamilton +3.5
  • Winnipeg -3.5

The Bombers had a rough loss in Montreal this past week, and I expect them to bounce back at home this week. Winnipeg is 6-0 at home on the season, and even though the Ti-Cats have the best record on the season, they are still only 4-3 on the road, and I don’t think they are at the same level as the Bombers and Stampeders.

I like Winnipeg to come out firing in this one en route to putting last weeks heart-breaker behind them by showing they’re the real deal with a big win vs the Ti-Cats.

Play: Blue Bombers -3.5

Saskatchewan Roughriders @ Toronto Argonauts

  • Saskatchewan -4.5
  • Toronto +4.5

The Roughriders are coming off a bye week, and they should be ready to roll into Toronto and play a solid game. The Argonauts have been playing better of late, but they are still a bottom three team in this league, and I don’t think they are going to be able to put up many points against the Roughriders in this game.

Yes, the Riders haven’t been great on the road this season, but I think the bye week should help them, and with the division win within reach, I expect this team to come ready to play and not let one slip through their fingers against the lowly Argos.

Play: Roughriders -4.5

Montreal Alouettes @ BC Lions

  • Montreal +2
  • BC -2

I’m surprised to see the Lions as the favourites in this game. Yes, the Lions are at home, and they destroyed the Redblacks 40-7 in Ottawa this past weekend, but that’s Ottawa – they’re the worst team in the league right now. I do not think the Lions offense will be able to run up the score against the Alouettes, and I’m expecting Montreal to continue firing, like they did to comeback against the Bombers last week.

The Alouettes are the better team and they should be the favourites, even on the road.

Play: Alouettes +2
