The 2017-18 NFL season is about to begin and the buzz has started as to which team will take down Super Bowl 52 this coming February. It’s an interesting year with the Pats as big favourites to start to the season, but with many teams who I feel have a great shot at having successful seasons and competing for the Super Bowl.
In this article I’ll look at the futures odds for the Super Bowl heading into the regular season, give my current favourite plays and also provide a quick guide to get your bets in from Canada. I will be using the best odds from any of our top rated sportsbooks for Canadians when looking at the lines.

Here are the odds for all of the NFL teams with 40/1 or better odds of winning the Super Bowl (taken from SportsInteraction.com). I don’t think anyone with longer odds that this has much of a shot, so I haven’t listed them.

- Pittsburgh Steelers 10/1
- Seattle Seahawks 12/1

My Super Bowl Pick
The Patriots deserve to be the favourites to repeat as Super Bowl champs, but those odds are simply too short to provide any value. We saw how close they came to losing in the finals to the Falcons last year and it really took a couple miracles for them to pull out that game. The Pats should make the playoffs, but then they still have at least 3 games that they could easily lose en route to the Super Bowl. I’ll pass on them and look for value elsewhere.
For me that value comes in the form of the Dallas Cowboys at 14/1. The Cowboys went 13-3 in the regular season last year and that was after losing Tony Romo before the season began, which forced Dak Prescott to step into the role of QB for the most popular team in America. He performed admirably and along with fellow rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott, the Cowboys offense was very capable to compliment one of the best defensive units in the league. This year the rookies will have one more year under their belts and I think the team has the ability to take that jump in the playoffs.
I fully expect the Cowboys to once again win the NFC East and then it will just come down to whether they can learn from last years disappointment and put together a solid playoff run.

3 Steps To Betting in Canada
If you’re new to online sports betting and want to place a bet on the 2017 Super Bowl, follow these 3 simple steps.
Step 1. Open an Online Sports Betting Account
First you’ll need to open an online sports betting account. If you know what team you want to bet on for the Super Bowl I suggest signing up with the sportsbook that provides the best return on that team. Compare odds between the 3 big Canadian sportsbooks and then select which bookie to use.
Continuing with my pick above, I would be signing up at SportsInteraction.com because they offer the longest odds for the Cowboys at 14/1. They are also our top rated sportsbook and we have a special deal with them where anyone who signs up through us receives a 100% matching bonus up to $200 on your first deposit.
Step 2. Deposit
Next you’ll have to make a deposit. Check out our deposit info page for some more detailed information on the various deposit options available at the top sportsbooks we recommend.
Step 3. Bet On The Super Bowl
To bet on the Super Bowl you’ll need to select ‘Football’ followed by ‘NFL’ or ‘NFL Futures’ at whichever sportsbook you choose. The Super Bowl odds should be at the top of either of these pages.
It’s important that you understand the odds in order to know what return you’re getting. Most sportsbooks will default to decimal odds, which means you’d see the Cowboys at odds of 15.00 (continuing with my pick above). That means that $100 would payout $1500 (100 x 15.00).
I think that’s it, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact me and I’ll answer them right away.
