2026 FIFA World Cup Contests for Canadians

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is underway, with all 48 teams now in action across Canada, the United States and Mexico in the first World Cup co-hosted by three nations. Matches run right through to the final on July 19, and there is still plenty of time to put your predictions to the test.

Now that the tournament has kicked off, a few of the contests I originally listed have closed their entry, so I have trimmed this down to the ones you can still join. The problem I run into every year is that a lot of the bigger contests are only open to Americans, so everything below accepts Canadians and pays out real prizes. For each one I have noted how to get in late and which prizes are still up for grabs even though the group stage is already rolling. Matchday 1 is already underway, so the overall leaderboard (which counts every matchday) is harder to win from here since you will miss some early points. The good news is that every upcoming matchday has its own leaderboard with a CA$50,000 top prize. Enter now and you are in clean contention for the full Matchday 2, Matchday 3 and Round of 32 leaderboards.

ESPN Men’s Knockout Bracket Challenge

• Contest Type: Bracket
• Total Prizes: $10,000
• How It Works: You can set up your brackets anytime and fill them in once the Round of 32 field is set on June 27, then predict the winner of all 31 knockout matches through to the Final. Points climb each round (25 for the Round of 32, 50 for the Round of 16, 100 for the Quarterfinals, 200 for the Semifinals and 400 for the Final), and a tiebreaker question on total knockout-round goals settles ties. You can create up to 25 brackets, and everything locks at the first Round of 32 kickoff on June 28 at 3pm ET.
• Free to enter. Open to Canadians outside Quebec who are 18 or older (or the age of majority in their province). Canadian winners must answer a skill-testing question.
• Still open, and you have not missed a thing: This contest has not even started yet. The bracket only opens once the Round of 32 field is set on June 27 and locks at the first knockout match on June 28, so the full $10,000 is still completely up for grabs. Set up your bracket now so you are ready the moment the group stage ends.

• Contest Type: Fantasy
• Prizes: Cash rewards at the progression steps (for example 40 Gems at Step 3, $100 at Step 4, and $1000 at Step 5). Extra game modes have more chances to win as well (Squads, Quests, Raffles, 100 Club, Golden Score, and more).
• How It Works: Colors is a new card set tied to this summer’s international fixtures. Sorare Pro Global Cup

• Contest Type: Fantasy
• Total Prizes: More than US$150,000 in total cash prizes
• How It Works: Sorare’s fantasy game is built around officially licensed collectible digital player cards. The Pro Global Cup runs across group stage and knockout windows, with shared cash prize pools paid out to managers who complete the challenge requirements. The more managers who finish, the more the pool is split, so it rewards consistency over the full tournament.
• Entry: Not free. You need to own Sorare player cards to compete in the Pro competition.
• Open to Canadians 18+.
• Still open throughout the tournament: Entry runs the full event, so you can still get in and submit lineups for the remaining group-stage and knockout windows.
