2026 FIFA World Cup Contests for Canadians

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is almost here, and for the first time it is being co-hosted right here in North America, with Canada, the United States and Mexico splitting hosting duties. With 48 teams and matches running from June 11 through the final on July 19, this is the biggest World Cup ever, and there is no shortage of contests where you can put your predictions to the test.

I love jumping into as many of these contests as I can find each tournament, and this World Cup is no different. The problem I run into every year is that a lot of the bigger contests are only open to Americans. To save you the time of digging through entry rules, I have put together the list below of World Cup contests that accept Canadians and pay out real prizes. Most of the ones I have listed are completely free to enter, and I have added a couple of value added contests at the bottom for anyone who wants to play for the bigger pools. If you are new to the tournament you can also brush up on our World Cup betting guide for Canadians.

If you know of any Canadian friendly World Cup contests that I haven’t listed below drop me a line through the Contact page and I’ll add it to the list.

  • Contest Type: Survivor
  • Total Prizes: $10,000 in Splash Cash (site credit you can put toward future contests)
  • How It Works: Before kickoff you predict the finishing position of every country in each group, earning a point for each correct placement. Once the group stage wraps you fill out a knockout bracket where points climb each round (Round of 32 is worth 1, Round of 16 is worth 2, Quarterfinals 4, Semifinals 8 and the Final 16). One entry per person, and the tiebreaker is the total number of goals across all knockout games, not counting shootouts.

ESPN Men’s Group Stage Challenge

  • Contest Type: Picks
  • Total Prizes: $10,000
  • How It Works: Predict the final standings in all 12 groups by ordering each one from 1st to 4th, then choose which 8 of the 12 third-place teams advance to the Round of 32. You earn points for every correct pick, plus a Perfect Group bonus for nailing a group’s exact finishing order. You can submit up to 3 entries, and picks lock when the first match kicks off on June 11.
  • Free to enter. Open to Canadians outside Quebec who are 18 or older (or the age of majority in their province). Canadian winners must answer a skill-testing question.
  • Contest Rating: 7/10

ESPN Men’s Knockout Bracket Challenge

  • Contest Type: Bracket
  • Total Prizes: $10,000
  • How It Works: You can set up your brackets anytime and fill them in once the Round of 32 field is set on June 27, then predict the winner of all 31 knockout matches through to the Final. Points climb each round (25 for the Round of 32, 50 for the Round of 16, 100 for the Quarterfinals, 200 for the Semifinals and 400 for the Final), and a tiebreaker question on total knockout-round goals settles ties. You can create up to 25 brackets, and everything locks at the first Round of 32 kickoff on June 28 at 3pm ET.
  • Free to enter. Open to Canadians outside Quebec who are 18 or older (or the age of majority in their province). Canadian winners must answer a skill-testing question.

  • How It Works: Pick the team you think will win the World Cup. Anyone who calls the winner correctly is eligible, and the closest predicted final score breaks the tie. If multiple entries predict the exact same score, the earliest entry submitted wins.

Sorare Colors Set

  • Contest Type: Fantasy
  • Prizes: Cash rewards at the progression steps (for example 40 Gems at Step 3, $100 at Step 4, and $1000 at Step 5). Extra game modes have more chances to win as well (Squads, Quests, Raffles, 100 Club, Golden Score, and more).
  • How It Works: Colors is a new card set tied to this summer’s international fixtures. You start with a free 10-card Starter Pack, build a squad and climb a 5-step board where your lineups earn points based on real-match performance. You can team up with friends on a Squad board, and there are side games like the 100 Club (10 Gems any time one of your players tops 100 points) and Golden Score, where you guess the exact cumulative score of a 5-player lineup on selected blockbuster fixtures. The Set runs from June 2 through later in the summer, covering the World Cup window.
  • Free to play. Option to buy Gems to purchase extra packs and strengthen your collection. Open to Canadians 18 and older.
  • Joining through OUR LINK will earn you 50 Gems to start (enough to buy a Gold Pack).

Value Added World Cup Contests for Canadians

Splash $2M World Cup Survivor

  • Contest Type: Survivor
  • Total Prizes: $2,000,000 prize pool
  • How It Works: A two-phase elimination contest that runs the full tournament. Before June 11 you pick 4 teams to survive the group stage, and all 4 have to advance to the Round of 32 or your entry is out. Survive that and you pick a team to win in each knockout round, with the catch that you cannot reuse any team you have already picked. The last entry left standing takes the pool.
  • Entry: $100 per entry
  • Open to Canadians outside Quebec who are 18 or older (or the age of majority in your province).
  • Contest Rating: 8/10

Sorare Pro Global Cup

  • Contest Type: Fantasy
  • Total Prizes: More than US$150,000 in total cash prizes
  • How It Works: Sorare’s fantasy game is built around officially licensed collectible digital player cards. The Pro Global Cup runs across group stage and knockout windows, with shared cash prize pools paid out to managers who complete the challenge requirements. The more managers who finish, the more the pool is split, so it rewards consistency over the full tournament.
  • Entry: Not free. You need to own Sorare player cards to compete in the Pro competition.
  • Open to Canadians 18+.
  • Contest Rating: 6/10
