The Canadian Triple Crown is headed back to Woodbine Racetrack this Saturday for the 2018 Breeders’ Stakes. There is no potential Triple Crown winner heading into the race this year. Wonder Gadot won both the Queen’s Plate and Prince of Wales Stake, but has chosen to forego a shot at the Canadian Triple Crown in order to race in the Travers Stakes at Saratoga next week. That said we will still be treated to a fine field of 9 solid horses and it should make for a great viewing and betting experience Saturday evening.
This year the favourite heading into Saturday is Aheadbyacentury, who finished second to Wonder Gadot in each of the first two legs of the Canadian Triple Crown. His biggest competitors come in the form of Say the Word and Hot Cash. In this article I’ve broken down the morning line odds for each horse, given my personal prediction and also provided you with a simple 3 step guide to betting on the race if you’re new to gambling online.

2018 Breeders’ Stakes Morning Line Odds
Below are the betting odds for the Breeders’ Stakes. These are the morning line odds, which are merely an estimate of what the final odds will be for each horse. The actual odds are determined by the amount of money that is wagered on each horse on race day. Check out our parimutuel betting page for more information on how the odds work for horse racing.
- Ginger Sky 12/1
- Eskiminzin 20/1
- Absolution 20/1
- Real Dude 8/1
- Aheadbyacentury 5/2
- Say the Word 3/1
- Neepawa 6/1
- Flight Deck 10/1
- Hot Cash 7/2
As you can see Aheadbyacentury, who finished second in both the Queen’s Plate and Prince of Wales Stakes is the favourite to win now that Wonder Gadot isn’t in the field. The other legitimate contenders are Say the Word, Hot Cash and Neepawa accord according to the oddsmakers.
I personally like Hot Cash. He had a big win at Woodbine a few weeks ago and although Aheadbyacentury looked good in the first two legs of the Canadian Triple Crown he could put down a different performance when Wonder Gadot isn’t there to chase.
