Sports Betting Canadian 2017 NHL Playoffs Bracket Contest

Last year there were no Canadian teams in the playoffs. Oh boy, how one year can change things in the NHL. This year the Canadian presence is strong in the Stanley Cup Playoffs with 5 of 7 Canadian teams booking their tickets to the post season. With all of this hype north of the border, the NHL playoffs are sure to be amazing this year and for that reason I’m upping the prize pool of the annual SportsBettingCanadian.ca bracket contest!

The NHL playoffs bracket works in the exact same way as a March Madness bracket that I’m sure everyone has filled out at least once in their lives. You pick which team will win each series on the road to the Cup and earn points when you’re correct.

Prizes

I said I was increasing the prize pool this year, so I’m sure you’d like to know what that means.

Last year the prize pool was $500, up from $300 in 2015. This year, I’m bumping the prize pool up another $250 to a cool $750 in total prizes to be won.

1st place – $200 prepaid card for betting on sports online.
2nd & 3rd place – $100
4th & 5th place – $50
6th – 15th place – $25

With 15 places paying out you have a great shot at winning a prize in this contest!

*All prizes are paid out in prepaid cards for online sports betting.

Point Structure

Here is how the points will be awarded:

1st round = 5 points
2nd round = 7 points
Conference Finals = 10 points
Stanley Cup Champs = 15 points
Bonus Points = 1 bonus point for every upset pick

**I added the bonus point for a upset picks this year to help avoid ties.

***If there is a tie after the correct score tie-breaker the prize will be split evenly among the tied entries.
