Edmonton Oilers @ Toronto Maple Leafs

Edmonton Oilers LogoThe Oilers are 7-2-0 on the season and they only lost their last game against the Senators thanks to a very spirited performance by Craig Anderson, who was playing for his wife.  The Oilers still outplayed the Sens in that game outshooting Ottawa 37-22 and only giving up one goal (outside of an empty netter).  The team defense of this Oilers team has really impressed me so far this season.  They’ve only given up 19 goals in 9 games, which is good for 4th in the league in goals against per game.  McLellan really has this team playing a 200 foot game and I think they should definitely be the favourites in this one against a Leafs team that has given up 3.78 goals per game through 9, even though the game is in Toronto.

Play: Oilers 1.95

San Jose Sharks @ Arizona Coyotes

Arizona CoyotesI think this Coyotes team is much better than their 2-6-0 record indicates at this point in the season.  You have to remember that this team had a very difficult 6 game road trip that basically kicked off their season and they went 1-5 on the trip, finally winning a game in Philly in their 6th on the road.  The injury to Mike Smith really hurt them, but I expect Domingue to be better moving forward now that he’s back in Arizona for a couple games.

Bottom line is that the Coyotes should not be a 2.50 underdog at home.  They’re 1-1 at home on the season, while the Sharks are 2-3 on the road.

Play: Coyotes 2.50 @ SportsInteraction.com

Anaheim Ducks @ LA Kings

Anaheim Ducks LogoI’ll be taking solid teams as underdogs against the Kings all year.  LA has always been a very streaky team and they are now back on a 2 game losing streak after winning 4 in a row (they lost 3 straight to start the season).  They also have been unable to score in either of those recent losses and having only scored 20 goals in 9 games this year shows that they have a serious lack of firepower on this team.

Simply put I think the Kings are overrated, while I do believe the Ducks have a solid team and will turn things around quickly.

Play: Ducks 2.15 @ SportsInteraction.com
