Free NHL Picks March 9th

Sport Betting Canadian Hockey MascotThe NHL season is heating up down the stretch and I will be trying to get my daily picks up here at the site more often, so bookmark the NHL picks page to check out my picks more often.

Tonight there are 6 games on the NHL schedule and I have 2 plays that I really like on the slate this evening.

Chicago Blackhawks @ St. Louis Blues

St. Louis Blues LogoThe Blues have really come into their own on their recent road trip, winning the final 3 games in Carolina, Ottawa and Minnesota, while scoring a combined 13 goals over that span.  The Blues have really spread out their offense over their top 3 lines and this scoring by committee has really worked of late.

St. Louis is 19-11-4 at home this season, while the Blackhawks are just 17-13-3 on the road, so this home ice advantage could very well come into play tonight.  These teams are only a couple points apart in the standings in the Central Division and both will be gunning for the Stars who are stumbling of late at the top of the Central Division.

I like the Blues tonight to continue their stellar play and get the W at home against Chicago.

Play: Blues 2.00 @ SportsInteraction.com

Arizona Coyotes @ Vancouver Canucks

Arizona CoyotesIn a battle between a couple of non-playoff teams that have been struggling of late, I like the Arizona Coyotes on the road.  Yes, they are just 2-8 over their last 10 games, but they were able to break their 7 game losing streak last Saturday with a big win over a very strong Panthers team.  Vermette and Tanguay look to have a lot of chemistry in their short time together and the Coyotes spreading their skill players among the top 3 lines should play dividends against this Canucks team that lacks depth.

The Canucks have been very poor at home this season, posting an 11-16-5 record in Vancouver, which is one reason I hate taking the Canucks as home favourites this year.

Play: Coyotes 2.10 @ Bet365.com

That’s it for today guys.  Good luck with your bets!
