Free NHL Picks March 28th

A couple days ago I hit my Ducks play, which kept the winning streak going here with my free picks. For those interested, my paid picks are up over 11 units since launching the service a couple months ago. You can see the results here.

Ottawa Senators @ Toronto Maple Leafs

This is a huge game for the Sens after losing to the Rangers on Thursday night. They had a tough time with the Leafs last Saturday and even though the Leafs are arguably the worst team in the NHL right now, rivalry games are always hard to predict because even though the Leafs are out of the playoffs there will still be a lot of pride on the line.

The goaltending situation in Ottawa is also up in the air. Hammond may be hurt, Anderson is supposed to return from injury as the backup, and this may all lead to Driedger getting his first NHL start tonight.

That said I still think this Ottawa team is playing some great hockey. Even against the Rangers they weren’t outclassed, Hammond just played quite poorly. I like the Sens in this one.

Florida Panthers @ Montreal Canadiens

With the Bruins struggling so mightily the past two weeks, the Florida Panthers are still somewhat in the playoff hunt. They’ve won 3 of their last 4 games and they’re actually playing some very good hockey. They’re 3 points back of the Sens & Bruins and SportsClubStats.com is giving them a 4% chance to make the playoffs. That percentage jumps to 8% if they win tonight. I think they can do it.
