CFL Week 19 Betting Picks 2017

The Bombers and Argos pushed in week 18, which left me with a record of 1-2-1 with big L’s on both the Stamps and Alouettes spread wagers.  The Eskimos were able to pull out the win in OT over the lowly Lions to get me a win on the board.  That brings my season record to 35-32-1, so I’m trying to stay afloat in the profits with two weeks remaining in the season.

I’ll be using SportsInteraction.com for my CFL picks all season long.  They’re our top rated sportsbook and they are an in-game sponsor of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats this season, which shows their commitment to the CFL.  You can check out our full SIA review here.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Ottawa Redblacks

  • Hamilton +7
  • Ottawa -7

The Ti-Cats proved me wrong last week by heading into Montreal and destroying the Alouettes in a meaningless game for both teams.  That said, this week they head to Ottawa to play a Redblacks team that is coming off a bye week and still battling with the Argos for top spot in the East Division.  I still believe that the Ti-Cats motivation has to have wavered after playing so well in the second half of the season and still already being mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.

The Redblacks have a lot more to play for, they will be well rested, playing in front of their home fans, against a team with nothing to play for.  I’m taking the Redblacks to get the win and move ahead of the Argos in the standings for the week.

Play: Redblacks -7

Montreal Alouettes @ Saksatchewan Roughriders

  • Montreal +17
  • Saskatchewan -17

Montreal came out of their bye week, playing at home, against a team that had just been eliminated from the playoffs, and still put up a huge stinker losing to the Ti-Cats by 27 points.  I don’t see any reason to back the Alouettes at this point.  The 17 points is a massive spread, but I still think the Roughriders cover it.

This could be a let down spot for Saskatchewan playing the worst team in the league after going into Calgary and winning decisively last week, but I still think they are on such another level to the Alouettes they should be able to put up points with ease.

Play: Roughriders -17

BC Lions @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers

  • BC +6
  • Winnipeg -6

The Lions lost a home game in over time to the Eskies last week, and that makes it 9 games with only 1 win for the Lions (over the Alouettes).  They have been the second worst team in the league over the second half of the season and are now eliminated from the playoffs.

The Bombers are coming off a tough 1 point loss in Toronto and they still have everything to play for with Eskies right on their tail for second place in the West.  I like the Bombers to cover this spread easily.

Play: Blue Bombers -6

Calgary Stampeders @ Edmonton Eskimos

  • Calgary -4
  • Edmonton +4

Yes, the Eskimos have won 3 games in a row after a 7 game losing streak in the middle of the season, but these wins are masking the fact that this team is still not playing great football.  Edmonton won tight games over Montreal and BC in this span, and squeaked out a 3 point win at home over the Argos.  These are not exactly quality teams so these wins should not signify a reemergence for this Eskies team.

The Stamps had a rough game last week, losing handily in front of their own fans to the Roughriders.  That said, they are still without a doubt the top team in the league and playing against an overrated Eskimos team I expect a nice bounce back week for the Stamps.  Calgary took their foot off the gas a bit the last couple weeks, but they will want to get back firing on all cylinders these final two weeks to head into the playoffs playing well.

Play: Stampeders -4
